Jewel Changi Airport has become one of the instantly recognisable icons of Singapore. It has proven very popular with tourists and locals alike. Foreign leaders have gushed to me over it and Singaporeans come from far and near to enjoy the space.
Singaporeans are proud of Jewel, and rightly so. It shows what we can do if we dream big and apply ourselves. Nothing is impossible! This was why I was especially delighted to join the official opening of Jewel last night. (Jewel was soft launched 6 months ago, and has welcomed over 50 million visitors since!)
The journey to building Jewel was not easy. The team put in a huge effort to prepare, plan, and convince Cabinet to go ahead with this ambitious idea. Their hard work and perseverance has certainly paid off. Congratulations to the team at Changi Airport Group for having the vision and determination to keep Changi Airport the best in the world. May every facet of Jewel continue to sparkle, and bring joy to all who experience it!
